Mark Skelly
Mark Skelly became one of the nation’s premiere marketers when he spearheaded the launch of the topical analgesic Flex-All, the world’s leading brand. Within two years, the product was endorsed by every professional sports franchise in the NFL, NBA, MLB and the NHL, while earning a place on the shelves of the biggest mass merchandisers in the U.S. His innovative marketing initiatives launched Flex-All into the stratosphere, with sales that continue to top the $15 million mark annually. FlexAll was acquired by Chattem Inc., a marketer and manufacturer of branded consumer products. Skelly continued his association with Chattem and Flex-All when he received a multi-year contract as a consultant.
Following his success with Flex-All, he formed Pro Performance Inc., one of the fastest rising sports marketing companies in the United States with an influential Advisory Board that included the Los Angeles Lakers, Indianapolis Colts, Detroit Pistons, Pittsburgh Steelers, Calgary Flames, Phoenix Suns, St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and the Miami Heat. PPI was chosen as the marketing representative for the National Basketball Trainers Association, responsible for the development of new products. Skelly also launched a content division, producing and distributing videos for Major League Baseball and the NBA. He has represented five major U.S. based companies with a global presence, executing marketing strategies, brand recognition and developing new business and revenue streams.
By the mid 90’s, Skelly left the sports marketing industry to pursue opportunities in the entertainment industry, as a literary manager and producer. He joined feature film writers/producers, Mark Victor and Michael Grais, who wrote and produce movies of international acclaim whose gross revenues have exceeded $600,000,000. Victor, Grais and Skelly formed VGS, a production/management company. Skelly’s feature film clients, which included an Academy Award winner, created some of Hollywood’s most popular movies, while his television clients, which included an Emmy Award winner, have generated some of the highest ratings for the networks and cable companies. After six years of success, the partners disbanded the company to start sole proprietorships.
He has represented and set up feature films, television series and projects, comic books and novels at CBS, Paramount, MGM, New Line, Warner Bros., A&E, TNT, Harper Collins, Showtime, Random House, E! Entertainment Channel, USA/Universal, MTV Networks, Discovery Channel, Platinum/Top Cow Comics and You Tube.
His clients and products have been on the cover or featured in People, US, Entertainment Weekly, Sports Illustrated, Sports Inc., Entrepreneur, Business Weekly, New York Post, Vogue, USA Today, ESPN, Maxim, In Style, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Men’s Fitness and Shape. He also has secured licensing deals with Fox Studios, Ford Motor Company and NASCAR.
Skelly’s desire to enter the world of New Media was catapulted when he joined LiveCastMedia, a global organization offering first class web design, state-of-the-art technology, innovative advertising solutions, e-commerce and content production for the internet. His body of work presents a true innovator and entrepreneur, having developed ground-breaking marketing and branding initiatives, represented high profile intellectual properties and solidified a propitious approach for business to business alignment. Skelly continues to cultivate top echelon relationships and create and assist original content and lifestyle brands around the world.
